Effective 2026-06-06 · Paperfort, Inc.
These terms govern your use of the Paperfort service (“Paperfort,” “we,” “us”). By installing the Paperfort Shopify app or purchasing an audit bundle, you (“Merchant”) agree to these terms.
Paperfort produces three accessibility artifacts for Shopify storefronts: a WCAG 2.2 AA audit report, a VPAT 2.5 conformance report, and a hosted /accessibility statement page. These artifacts are generated by an automated scan of the publicly-rendered storefront plus manual review by CPACC-credentialed reviewers.
Our automated scanner tests against WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria using axe-core 4.10 and custom rules. It scans the rendered DOM of the pages you submit. It does not scan:
Paperfort does not guarantee that you will not receive an ADA demand letter, not be sued, or not be found non-compliant by a court or regulator. WCAG conformance is a technical standard, not a legal safe harbor. We produce documentation that your counsel can use to establish a good-faith compliance posture; we do not give legal advice and we are not your attorneys.
Our reports identify issues and suggest fixes. We do not modify your theme, we do not install code on your storefront, and we do not guarantee that implementing our suggestions will resolve every issue. Remediation is performed by you or your developer.
Paperfort does not ship, install, or endorse accessibility overlay widgets. Overlays are associated with FTC enforcement actions (see FTC v. accessiBe, January 2025) and are often cited by plaintiffs as evidence of non-compliance. If you install an overlay from a third party while subscribed to Paperfort, our reports will flag it as a finding.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Paperfort’s aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Paperfort in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars. In no event is Paperfort liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost business, or the cost of defending or settling an ADA lawsuit or demand letter.
You agree to indemnify and hold Paperfort harmless from any claim, damages, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of (a) your use of the service, (b) your violation of these terms, or (c) your content or storefront infringing any third party’s rights or violating any law.
Subscriptions are billed monthly through Shopify Billing and appear on your Shopify invoice. You can change plans from the Paperfort app by selecting a new plan and approving the Shopify billing change. You can cancel by removing Paperfort from your Shopify admin. Access continues until the end of the current billing period unless Shopify applies a plan replacement immediately after merchant approval.
You may not use Paperfort to audit storefronts you do not own or are not authorized to scan. You may not resell, white-label, or sublicense Paperfort output without a written agreement from us. You may not remove the Paperfort attribution from the hosted /accessibility statement page.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, if your payment is more than 14 days past due, or if Shopify revokes our app’s access to your store. On termination, we will retain your audit records for 30 days so that you can download them, then permanently delete them.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. Disputes must be brought in state or federal court in New Castle County, Delaware. You waive any objection to venue or forum non conveniens.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be sent to the admin email on file for each merchant at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
